Vestibular Therapy

What exactly are you looking for in my eyes?

What is Vestibular Therapy?

Specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on the mechanical issue causing your dizziness. Your specialty trained vestibular physical therapist will assess your eyes, neck, and balance to help determine the cause of your dizziness and form an individualized program to get you back to things you love.

What are common symptoms associated with vestibular dysfunction?

  • Dizziness or blurry vision with head movements

  • Neck tightness, stiffness and/or pain

  • Imbalance or the need to hold onto objects when walking

  • Headaches

  • Frequent falls

  • Generalized “dizziness, wooziness and foggy head” feelings

  • Vertigo/spinning

How successful is Vestibular Therapy?

Many times vestibular therapy is the only treatment required. It however could be performed pre-operatively or post-operatively to help reduce intensity of symptoms. With the correct diagnosis and proper treatment plan, your dizziness can be completely resolved through vestibular therapy.

How do I know if my dizziness is from my inner ear and not something more serious like a heart attack or stroke?

If your dizziness is worsening and accompanied with (but not limited to) headache, sudden weakness, change in mental status, slurred speech, and/or chest pain, it is important you go to the ER immediately to be assessed. Download this free guide we’ve made for you to help you know early signs of a stroke that will require immediate medical attention.
